Darwin Awareness Engine™ Shown at Webcom 2009 in Montreal October 22

Picture 3Webcom 2009 will take place in Montreal on Thursday October 22 from 8 AM to 6PM. There is a great agenda of speakers. Shel Holtz leads it off with a session on Tactical Transparency: The Value of Access to Information.  Then there are four tracks on: Enterprise 2.0 & Intranets, Marketing 2.0, Solutions 2.0, and Media 2.0.  DarwinEcosystem people will have presentations in three sessions.

Thierry Hubert will be speaking in the Solutions 2.o track. He will cover how Collective wisdom is emerging from Web chaos. In this session he will demonstration the Darwin Awareness Engine™ and discuss its capabilities.

Bill Ives will speak on Enterprise 2.0 and Web 2.0 Blogging in the Age of Twitter. Here is the description. Blogs were one of the initial social media, emerging on the political scene in 04 and business in 05. They were the first social media to make it into Gartner’s “slope of enlightenment.”  Now Twitter has emerged as the hot new social media tool on the Web.  Does Twitter replace blogs? Have blogs seen their day? This session will cover the state of business blogs in 2009 and attempt to convince you that blogs and Twitter are natural partners that make each other stronger. It will focus on blogging outside and inside the enterprise.

Bill will also lead a brief discussion on Twitter for Business is Not an Oxymoron. In this discussion I cover how Twitter is another of the long line of Web 2.0 consumer tools to cross over to the business world.  It has emerged in the past year as a new communication channel that augments, but does not replacing existing ones, including blogs. Hear a wide range of business applications for Twitter from a skeptic turned convert. Case examples will be provided and discussion encouraged.

Our friend, Claude Malaison will discuss Twitter & the Mumbai Terrorist Attacks: How to scoop CNN. There are many other interesting speakers and Picture 4topics and you have the wonderful city of Montreal
