Our mission
Our mission is to reveal the movement of the world's information to improve human awareness and discovery.
History
Prior to 2006, there were web search services to answer specific questions based on keyword searches, but nothing existed that would permit individuals to easily discover things that they didn’t already know about. A new approach was needed. In 2006 Darwin Ecosystem founder Thierry Hubert applied chaos theory principals to information overload, and had two fundamental insights about discovery:
Enter the Darwin Awareness Engine in 2008, a new tool to find out what’s going on in the web. In 2012, the company introduced TweetZUP, a tool to find out what’s going on with tweets.
The company has continued to develop and gain recognition for its awareness technology improving real time discovery over other information gathering and curation methods.
The Innovation
Our award-winning core technology, the Darwin Awareness Engine, is changing information-retrieval, curation, and awareness. Our product development is guided by the understanding that humans are better than machines at inferring meaning and deciding on courses of action. We solve information overload through the use of chaos theory principles and by capitalizing on the human capacity for pattern recognition.
Awareness Tools
TweetZUP, a free Web utility supported by advertising, is for anyone wanting to know and share in real-time “what’s up with tweets?”
Darwin Awareness Editions are subscription (SaaS) services for professionals who need to know “what’s going on” in all types of web events, including news, blogs, social media, videos and discussion boards.
